Help center
What's new
October 28, 2026
- Help center. Guides for coordinators and volunteers, searchable from every page. Start with "What Causefolk is" for a short tour of the product.
- Networks. A United Way or another umbrella group can bring its partner organizations together for shared reports, a public directory of their opportunities and staff invitations, without seeing anyone's volunteers.
- Badges, leaderboard and certificates. Volunteers earn badges as they give time, can join an opt-in leaderboard of hours, and can print a certificate of their service.
- CRM connections. Owners can send volunteers and their hours to Salesforce or Bloomerang with their own credentials, and see what failed and why.
- A new look for the blog. The blog now wears the same design as the rest of the website.
October 27, 2026
- Data export and deletion. Owners can download everything their organization keeps on Causefolk, or delete the organization after a 14-day grace period, and volunteers can download their own data.
- Coordinators, viewers and programs. Group opportunities into programs, give coordinators just the programs they run, and give viewers read-only access.
- Notifications on your phone. Volunteers can turn on notifications for reminders, offers and messages, and add the portal to their home screen.
- Kiosk mode. Put a tablet at your venue so volunteers can find their name and check in or out without a phone.
October 26, 2026
- Automations. Thank volunteers after their first shift, celebrate hours milestones and anniversaries, and invite lapsed volunteers back, automatically.
- Trends. A Trends tab in Reports shows month by month how your hours, volunteers, returning volunteers and shift fill rate change, with an estimated value of your volunteers' time, and the dashboard compares each figure with the previous period.
- Roles within a shift. Split a shift into roles such as Greeter and Planter, each with its own spots.
October 24, 2026
- Calendar and coverage. See your shifts by week or month, find the ones that still need people, and print the schedule.
- Volunteer details, tags and segments. Keep emergency contacts, skills, availability, tags and notes on each volunteer, and save searches as segments.
- Waivers and requirements. Ask volunteers to sign a waiver, confirm a training or upload a certification before they sign up, with guardian signatures for minors.
October 23, 2026
- Logged hours and check-out. Volunteers can log hours themselves for you to review, and check out when they leave so their hours match their time.
October 22, 2026
- A new staff app. A new sidebar, search with ⌘K, a notification bell, a setup checklist and a fresh look on every page.
- A new website. Causefolk's website has a new design, with a tour of the product and the plans.
October 21, 2026
- Messages to volunteers. Write to volunteers by email, and by text where they agreed, now or scheduled, from one shift up to everyone.
October 17, 2026
- The blog. Causefolk now has a blog with news and notes on running a volunteer program.
October 15, 2026
- Causefolk. The product has a new name and a new design.
October 14, 2026
- Terms and Privacy Policy. A new home page for organizations, with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in English and Spanish.
October 13, 2026
- API and webhooks. Owners can let other systems read their data with API keys and receive changes through signed webhooks.
- Background checks. Connect your Checkr account and require a cleared check for some opportunities.
- Protection from bots. Public forms quietly check that a person, not a program, is sending them.
- Self check-in. Volunteers check in by scanning a poster, showing their daily code or tapping "I'm here".
- Spanish. Every page, email and text volunteers get is available in Spanish.
October 12, 2026
- My volunteering. One page for every organization a volunteer helps, with a calendar link for all their shifts.
- File uploads and approval expiry. Application forms can ask for documents, and approvals can expire and be renewed.
- Group signups. Volunteers can bring others in one signup, and the whole party is confirmed or waitlisted together.
October 10, 2026
- Texts for volunteers. Volunteers who agree get their shift reminders and waitlist offers by text too.
- Staff notifications and your sending domain. Choose instant, daily or text notifications, and send volunteer email from your own domain.
- Recurring shifts and waitlist offers. Set up shifts that repeat, let volunteers join the whole series, and hold freed spots for the first person waiting.
October 9, 2026
- Hours and reports. Mark attendance, log hours and see reports of the time your volunteers give.
- Applications. Ask volunteers to apply before they sign up, and approve or decline them.
- Free trial and billing. Start an organization on your own with a 14-day free trial, then subscribe monthly or yearly.

October 3, 2026
- Opportunities and shift signup. Publish opportunities and shifts, and let volunteers sign up from your own volunteer site or your website, with no account needed.
